A reading-room window onto the sky
Mystic Cards
A Mystic Card takes the constellation riding highest over you right now, where you stand, and hands you the old Greek myth behind its name, painted in our own hand, with the constellation's realstars laid over it in their true positions. Draw what's near, or draw at random.
It isn't a fortune. It's an invitation, sit with an ancient story for a minute and notice what it echoes in your own week. The constellation overhead changes through the night and the seasons; or pick any of the 33 below.

A Mystic Card · the constellation over you now
Cetus
the sea-monster
The monster rose, scales shimmering with ocean salt, a dark, vast shape moving towards the girl chained to rock, a sacrifice for spoken vanity. Its shadow fell across the coast, a hush before the end. Then, a sudden, blinding light from a hero’s shield, a clever trick. The creature, mesmerized by its own mirrored horror, turned to stone. Not a roaring battle, but a moment paused, a single breath held, shifting fate from one trajectory to another.
You survived the almost, mark it somehow, then stop rehearsing it.
