A reading-room window onto the sky
Mystic Cards
A Mystic Card takes the constellation riding highest over you right now, where you stand, and hands you the old Greek myth behind its name, painted in our own hand, with the constellation's realstars laid over it in their true positions. Draw what's near, or draw at random.
It isn't a fortune. It's an invitation, sit with an ancient story for a minute and notice what it echoes in your own week. The constellation overhead changes through the night and the seasons; or pick any of the 33 below.

A Mystic Card · the constellation over you now
Skorpios
the scorpion
Earth herself may have sent it, that's one telling, the oldest one. A hunter walked her back bragging he would kill every animal she carried, and she reached into her own dust and made an answer, small, armored, patient, a sting with a heartbeat. It didn't outfight Orion. It outlasted him. Then the sky took them both, and set them at opposite doors of the year so the argument could finally rest. When the scorpion rises in the east, the hunter lies down in the west. That is the whole peace treaty.
The boast is drawing something toward you, quieter is safer and truer.
