Arrows bounced, spears bent. The Nemean Lion, a golden terror, could not be cut, could not be pierced. Every force met its match in that thick, living armor. Heracles, arms heavy, felt the shift. Not brute strength, not the forged edge, but a different kind of grapple. He used the beast’s own sharp claw, a curved amber knife, to peel back the very skin that defied all other blades. The unyielding, undone by itself, a clever violence.
Invulnerable is another word for alone, let one thing in.
