A reading-room window onto the sky
Mystic Cards
A Mystic Card takes the constellation riding highest over you right now, where you stand, and hands you the old Greek myth behind its name, painted in our own hand, with the constellation's real stars laid over it in their true positions. Draw what's near, or draw at random.
It isn't a fortune. It's an invitation, sit with an ancient story for a minute and notice what it echoes in your own week. The constellation overhead changes through the night and the seasons; or pick any of the 33 below.

Delphin
Poseidon's matchmaker
Five stars. That's nearly the whole constellation, a kite-shaped handful you could cover with your thumb. Poseidon could have given the dolphin an island, a current, a hundred ships' worth of thanks. Instead he gave him a small permanent place in the sky, which is the better gift, if you think about it. Not big, just unlosable. Delphinus rides the summer dark, easy to miss, impossible to take back. One good favor, kept forever at modest size.
You don't need the whole answer to surface, one honest sentence is enough to start.
