Heracles figured it out the hard way, the way most of us do. Swing, two heads. Swing, four. The work getting bigger the harder he worked, which is a feeling you may know from your own life. So he stopped swinging. He brought a torch, and after each cut he burned the neck closed before the new heads could come, one at a time, slow, deliberate, smoke in his eyes. The labor wasn't won with strength. It was won with sequence.
