A reading-room window onto the sky
Mystic Cards
A Mystic Card takes the constellation riding highest over you right now, where you stand, and hands you the old Greek myth behind its name — painted in our own hand, with the constellation's realstars laid over it in their true positions. Draw what's near, or draw at random.
It isn't a fortune. It's an invitation — sit with an ancient story for a minute and notice what it echoes in your own week. The constellation overhead changes through the night and the seasons; or pick any of the 33 below.

A Mystic Card · the constellation over you now
Andromeda
the chained maiden
Cassiopeia boasted, and the sea took the price. Andromeda stood on the rock with iron at her wrists, the tide rising past her knees. Perseus came in the wrong moment and turned the moment right. The chain is still in the sky — and so is the rescue.
Sit with it for a moment. Where does this old story echo in your own week — the same boast, the same crossing, the same rescue arriving at the wrong moment and turning it right?
