A reading-room window onto the sky
Mystic Cards
A Mystic Card takes the constellation riding highest over you right now, where you stand, and hands you the old Greek myth behind its name, painted in our own hand, with the constellation's realstars laid over it in their true positions. Draw what's near, or draw at random.
It isn't a fortune. It's an invitation, sit with an ancient story for a minute and notice what it echoes in your own week. The constellation overhead changes through the night and the seasons; or pick any of the 33 below.

Astraea's scales
the scales of justice
For a long age the scales weren't their own constellation at all. They hung from the scorpion's claws, borrowed stars, justice held in the grip of the thing with the sting, which is honest about how it often goes down here. Eventually the sky gave them their own name, their own space, and now they hang alone, level, empty. An instrument with no operator. Which means the next hand that touches them decides what gets weighed.
Fairness starts as a question you ask yourself, ask it plainly today.
