A reading-room window onto the sky
Mystic Cards
A Mystic Card takes the constellation riding highest over you right now, where you stand, and hands you the old Greek myth behind its name, painted in our own hand, with the constellation's realstars laid over it in their true positions. Draw what's near, or draw at random.
It isn't a fortune. It's an invitation, sit with an ancient story for a minute and notice what it echoes in your own week. The constellation overhead changes through the night and the seasons; or pick any of the 33 below.

Delphin
Poseidon's matchmaker
Poseidon, who could move the whole ocean, could not move one heart in it. Amphitrite heard his proposal and dove for the deepest water she knew, and the sea god stood in his own kingdom, unable to find her. So he asked. That's the part people miss. The god of the sea asked a dolphin for help. Delphin went down into the cold and the dark, and came back up with a yes. Some things power can't reach and a kind voice can.
Small and unlosable beats big and borrowed.
