A reading-room window onto the sky
Mystic Cards
A Mystic Card takes the constellation riding highest over you right now, where you stand, and hands you the old Greek myth behind its name, painted in our own hand, with the constellation's realstars laid over it in their true positions. Draw what's near, or draw at random.
It isn't a fortune. It's an invitation, sit with an ancient story for a minute and notice what it echoes in your own week. The constellation overhead changes through the night and the seasons; or pick any of the 33 below.

A Mystic Card · the constellation over you now
Zeus
the bull
The sea remembers the crossing, a white bull swimming with a girl on his back, her sandals lost somewhere behind them, salt in the flowers she'd braided that morning. It has carried a lot of stolen things, the sea, and it makes no rulings, it just delivers. Europa landed at Crete a stranger and became a queen and a name on maps, which is not the same as a choice. The bull went up among the stars, forever mid-charge, and his red eye still watches the water he crossed.
What was taken from you can still become a country with your name on it.
