A reading-room window onto the sky
Mystic Cards
A Mystic Card takes the constellation riding highest over you right now, where you stand, and hands you the old Greek myth behind its name, painted in our own hand, with the constellation's realstars laid over it in their true positions. Draw what's near, or draw at random.
It isn't a fortune. It's an invitation, sit with an ancient story for a minute and notice what it echoes in your own week. The constellation overhead changes through the night and the seasons; or pick any of the 33 below.

Hydra
the many-headed
The sky gave the Hydra more room than anything else in it. She stretches across more than a third of the heavens, so long that her head sets while her tail is still rising, a constellation you can't take in all at once. That's fitting. Some work can't be seen whole either, only traveled. The stars kept her at full length as a kind of honesty, this is the true size of the hard thing, and it was still finishable.
Bring fire and patience, the sword alone has been making it worse.
