A reading-room window onto the sky
Mystic Cards
A Mystic Card takes the constellation riding highest over you right now, where you stand, and hands you the old Greek myth behind its name, painted in our own hand, with the constellation's realstars laid over it in their true positions. Draw what's near, or draw at random.
It isn't a fortune. It's an invitation, sit with an ancient story for a minute and notice what it echoes in your own week. The constellation overhead changes through the night and the seasons; or pick any of the 33 below.

Zeus
the swan
The swan watches the Milky Way the way a bird watches a river, following it, trusting it. From under the summer sky you can find her easily, the Northern Cross, flying along the bright dust. She watches for whatever you're carrying in two forms at once, the love that's also loneliness, the hope that's also grief. She'd tell you it's fine to be two stories. She has been, for a few thousand years, and she still flies straight.
Follow the bright current you can see, not the map you wish you had.
