A reading-room window onto the sky
Mystic Cards
A Mystic Card takes the constellation riding highest over you right now, where you stand, and hands you the old Greek myth behind its name, painted in our own hand, with the constellation's realstars laid over it in their true positions. Draw what's near, or draw at random.
It isn't a fortune. It's an invitation, sit with an ancient story for a minute and notice what it echoes in your own week. The constellation overhead changes through the night and the seasons; or pick any of the 33 below.

A Mystic Card · the constellation over you now
Zeus
the bull
On winter evenings the bull's face is a sideways V of stars with one red eye, and he watches for the moment before, the meadow moment, when something beautiful kneels in front of you and you haven't decided yet. Taurus is not a warning exactly. Plenty of crossings turn out to be your life. He just remembers a girl's hands in his neck and a shoreline going small, and he'd have you notice what you're climbing onto, and whether you can still hear your own feet on the ground.
Slow, warm, stubborn is a fine way to cross a sea, keep swimming.
