A reading-room window onto the sky
Mystic Cards
A Mystic Card takes the constellation riding highest over you right now, where you stand, and hands you the old Greek myth behind its name, painted in our own hand, with the constellation's real stars laid over it in their true positions. Draw what's near, or draw at random.
It isn't a fortune. It's an invitation, sit with an ancient story for a minute and notice what it echoes in your own week. The constellation overhead changes through the night and the seasons; or pick any of the 33 below.

Laelaps
the hound that never lost
Zeus watched an always about to collide with a never, the hound that catches everything closing on the fox that nothing catches, and understood the world could not hold the ending either way. So he did the only thing left, he stopped the story. Froze them both mid-chase and set the hound in the winter stars with Sirius blazing at its chest, the brightest star we have. Some problems don't get solved, they get placed. There's a strange peace in that, the argument that never ends becoming a landmark instead.
Faithfulness is your bright star, aim it at people who feed it.
