Upright
A child offers a cup of flowers to a smaller child in a sunlit courtyard. The Six of Cups is the tenderness of an earlier self — a memory that visits, a friend from childhood who calls, a small joy that feels older than you. The card honors the past without asking you to live in it. Some of who you were is worth keeping. Let the small child meet you for tea.
Reversed
The same courtyard but the door is locked. The Six of Cups reversed is nostalgia weaponized — the past you keep returning to because the present is uncomfortable. Sometimes it's the opposite: the moment you finally outgrow what you were holding onto and step out the door. The card asks: are you using the memory, or is the memory using you.
