Upright

Eight cups stand cooling on the counter, full but forgotten, and you reach for your coat instead. This is the leaving, the quiet walk away from something that was almost enough and wasn't. The card doesn't call the cups bad, it only knows you've outgrown the room they're in. Pack light, look back once at the candle, then step out into the dark.

Reversed

You stand at the door with your coat half on and don't go, the leaving you keep almost doing and never finish. Or you went too soon, before the room had finished teaching you. The card asks honestly which one this is, because both can be true.

In the imagery

Eight cups sit abandoned in the foreground, still steaming faintly on dark wood, while a figure moves toward a door left open on a cold blue night. The warm gold of the apothecary stays behind, and the path ahead is shadow and hill. The painting holds the ache of walking away from comfort that no longer fits, the hush of a room you are choosing to leave.
