Upright
Something pours, and the pouring does not stop. The heart opens the way a kettle opens its steam, the way a jar of honey finally gives, and what comes is love, though not always the kind with a name on it. Sometimes it is the love you feel for your own Self after a long dry season, sometimes a kindness from a stranger across the table. Hold the cup under it. There is no shortage in this house.
Reversed
The cup tipped, the warmth gone cool on the shelf, and the love sits unspoken in your chest like a tea left to go bitter. Drink to yourself first, the card says, before you can pour for anyone else.
In the imagery
On dark wood at dusk, a single chipped chalice sits among dried sprigs of yarrow and bee balm, and from it a thread of something warm spills over and never empties. A candle leans close, gold light pooling in the liquid. The overflow soaks into the herbs and they bloom again, the way a closed heart begins to give without being asked.
