Upright
Rain hammers the shop window and the candle gutters in the draft, and still he sits at the worn table, a full cup held level in one steady hand. The King of the suit of cups is feeling everything and pouring from calm anyway. The storm outside does not stop, the kettle rattles, and he does not flinch. This is what wise counsel looks like, what a steady hand looks like when the whole house is shaking and someone has to be the one who stays in the chair.
Reversed
Reversed, the storm has moved indoors and the held cup trembles at last, the calm that was only a lid on what he would not feel. Or the warmth turns into a tool, the soft voice used to steer instead of to tell the truth. The card asks where your feelings actually live, not above the weather, but down in it.
In the imagery
A bearded man on a dark wood chair holds a brimming cup level while wind throws rain at the apothecary glass and dried herbs swing on their hooks. The single unwavering candle beside him is the whole point, one small flame keeping its shape in the draft. His steadiness is not the absence of the storm but the choice to feel it and not spill.
