Upright
A robed figure and a child sit in a small boat being poled across calm water by a hooded figure. Six swords planted upright in the bow. The Six of Swords is the quiet leaving — the move from one shore to another, after a hard time. The water is still. The boat is moving. The card honors the in-between. You don't have to know what's on the other shore yet. Just stay in the boat.
Reversed
The boat stalled mid-water, or refused to board. The Six of Swords reversed is the transition that hasn't happened — the geographic move, the emotional one, the leaving of a relationship that's already over. Sometimes it's the opposite: the resistance of someone who keeps pulling you back to the old shore. The card asks you to keep poling. The other side is real.
