Eight of Swords

A blindfolded figure stands bound in a circle of eight swords stuck in the ground. Water at her feet, a castle on the hill behind. The Eight of Swords is the trap that's mostly in your head. The ground is muddy but unguarded. The blindfold is loose. The swords have spaces between them. The card doesn't deny you feel stuck. It just shows you the gaps.

Reversed

The blindfold off, the swords stepping aside. The Eight of Swords reversed is the moment the trap reveals itself as exit-able. New perspective, self-empowerment, the slow walk out of a story that was holding you. Sometimes the card is the warning: the trap is closing because you keep choosing to step back inside it. Each gap is a choice.
