Upright
A figure tiptoes away from a camp carrying five swords, two left behind. The Seven of Swords is strategy — sometimes deception, sometimes just the choice to act alone instead of in the open. The card is not always negative. Some moments require quiet. But it asks the harder question: are you being strategic, or are you being dishonest? The two carried swords matter. So do the two left behind.
Reversed
The figure caught, or the deception confessed. The Seven of Swords reversed is the moment honesty arrives — the secret comes out, the strategy is named for what it was. Sometimes it's the opposite: imposter syndrome, the feeling that you've been getting away with something you didn't earn. The card asks for plain dealing. With others. With yourself.
