Upright
You have climbed this far, and now the pushback rises from below, hands reaching to take back the ground you stand on. Plant your feet. Hold the thing you said was true without letting it sour you into bitterness over having to hold it. You do not have to win every round, you only have to not abandon yourself, the high ground is yours, keep it.
Reversed
The defender worn thin, no longer sure why the wand is still raised or whether the hill was ever worth it. Sometimes the card says lay it down. Sometimes it says find your footing and stand again. Both are honest, only do not keep swinging out of plain old habit.
In the imagery
One wand stands gripped upright on the high shelf, planted firm, while six more press up at it from the cluttered dark below, crowding the candlelight. The single flame holds steady against the press. The lone braced wand above the rising six shows the meaning, this is the held line, the lonely stand, one stubborn footing kept against everything reaching to unseat it.
