Upright

A young one at the apothecary counter, turning a single tall wand in the candlelight, looking up at it like it might do something. This is the first stirring of a new fire, the spark of a passion or an idea that has just landed and wants wood to grow. There is no skill in it yet, and there does not need to be. The card asks you to be the patient student of your own curiosity, to let yourself be a beginner by the warm light, hands still learning the weight.

Reversed

The wand set down half-turned, the curiosity already wandering to the next jar on the shelf. Reversed, this is fire that scatters before it roots, the project left in week two, the message begun and never sent, and the card asks you to slow enough to actually study the thing you said you wanted.

In the imagery

A young figure in earthy linen stands at a dark wood counter, one tall dried wand held up toward the candle, eyes bright with new interest. Bundled herbs and labeled jars line the shelves behind, and a small lit ember glows at the wand's tip like a question. The upward gaze and the single fresh stalk carry the first curious stir of a fire not yet built.
