Upright

A knight on a heavy black horse, both standing still in a plowed field, the knight holding a pentacle steady. The Knight of Pentacles is the slow worker — the one who shows up on time, does the boring middle work, doesn't quit on day three. The card honors the unglamorous. Some progress is so steady it's hard to see. That doesn't make it not progress. Keep going.

Reversed

The horse asleep in the field. The Knight of Pentacles reversed is stagnation, boredom, the routine that's stopped serving you. Sometimes it's perfectionism — the work that won't ship because it's not yet flawless. The card asks what's worth the steadiness and what's just become a rut. Both are real. The middle work is sacred when it's earning something. Less so when it isn't.
