Upright
A seated figure clutches one pentacle to the chest, stands on two, has one balanced on the head. The Four of Pentacles is security, sometimes earned and sometimes gripped. The card doesn't shame you for wanting safety. It asks whether the grip has gotten so tight nothing can come in or out. Holding what's yours is fair. Squeezing the life out of it isn't.
Reversed
The fingers loosening, or the grip giving out entirely. The Four of Pentacles reversed is release — generous, sometimes reckless. The card asks for an honest look at your relationship with money, security, possessions. Are you hoarding because you remember not having? Are you spending because the having feels heavy? Both are real. Both are workable.
