New-Moon Intentions
At the new moon the sky goes dark, the cycle resets, and by long tradition it's the moment to name what you want before there's any light to show it. A seed does its first work underground.
☾ The moon is new (or nearly). Tonight is the night, set your intentions.
The ritual
Plant the seed
- 1Within a day of the new moon, find ten quiet minutes and a candle.
- 2Write three to five intentions, present tense, as if already underway: I am…, I have…, I am building….
- 3Read each one slowly, once, out loud. Feel what it would be like to already have it.
- 4Fold the paper, tuck it somewhere you'll find it at the full moon, and let the seed go dark.
- 5At the full moon, take it out and mark what's begun to grow.
What makes one land
Write them so they catch
Present, not future. I am, not I will. The future tense keeps the thing forever one step away.
Toward, not away. Name what you want, not what you're fleeing. I am calm beats I am not anxious.
Yours to move. Intend the part you can act on. The new moon points the will; it doesn't do the walking.
Reinforce it with the 369 method, scripting, or a sigil. Track the moon on the lunar calendar.
