Drawn down, it warns of To thirst and find the well dry or the water muddied warned of resources failing, or a friendship spoiled at its source. Trace the stream back, someone upstream has troubled it.

Drawn up, it speaks of Thirst is the dream's plainest signal, something essential running low. Water is the unconscious itself, and thirst is a conscious life gone too dry, the cure is to go where the water is.
Drawn down, it warns of Thirst that persists after drinking is the sign of a substitute satisfaction, the psyche handed seawater and asked to be grateful. Look at what you have been swallowing instead.
