Dreaming of Sun
Two traditional perspectives
These are symbolic interpretations from different traditions, not facts about your life or forecasts. Your associations may be different.
Artemidorus · Oneirocritica
A clear rising sun denotes success in public matters and the favor of fathers, kings, and those set above you. To be warmed by it is health returning.
A sun darkened or setting at noon warns of loss touching the father or the master of the house, or the dimming of your own standing. Postpone what needs another's blessing.
Jungian · the collective unconscious
The sun is consciousness itself, the ego in its rightful warmth, what you know of yourself standing in plain light. Sunrise in a dream is a new attitude dawning, something coming up out of the dark half of you into the day.
A scorching sun is consciousness turned tyrant, the rational mind burning everything soft and green in the inner field. A sun that will not rise points to a heaviness the daylight self keeps refusing to name.
a few quiet questions
A gentle guided reflection
Start wherever you like and skip anything that does not fit. Your notes stay in this page while it is open. They are not sent or saved automatically, and leave with the page when you close or reload it.
To keep your reflection, copy it and paste it into your dream journal (opens in a new tab). Saving there is your choice and requires an account. You can also paste it into your own notebook or notes app.
There is room for the whole story
