Dreaming of Returning

To return home from a journey signified matters concluding well, quarrels ended, the exile welcomed in. For the traveler it was among the kindest dreams.

To return and find the house changed or the family gone warned of estrangement, affairs at home shifting in your absence. Look homeward soon in waking life.

Returning, to a childhood house, an old town, is the psyche circling back for something it left behind, a piece of Self stored in an early room. You go back to fetch, not to stay.

Returning again and again to the same past place is regression wearing homesickness as a mask. The old rooms are smaller than you remember, and the dream knows it even when you don't.
