Dreaming of Lake
Two traditional perspectives
These are symbolic interpretations from different traditions, not facts about your life or forecasts. Your associations may be different.
Artemidorus · Oneirocritica
A still, clear lake foretells peace in the household and rest after labor. Fish seen moving in it denote profit lying quietly within reach.
A weed-choked or foul lake warns of stagnation in your affairs, money or goodwill sitting idle and souring. Ripples with no wind counsel caution, something moves that hasn't shown itself.
Jungian · the collective unconscious
The lake is the unconscious held and contained, deep water with a shore you can sit on. Looking into a still lake is the psyche offering to show you something, a reflecting surface between you and what's below.
A lake with something moving under the surface is content stirring that you keep declining to look at. Murky or shrinking water speaks of an inner life gone stagnant from being left unvisited.
a few quiet questions
A gentle guided reflection
Start wherever you like and skip anything that does not fit. Your notes stay in this page while it is open. They are not sent or saved automatically, and leave with the page when you close or reload it.
To keep your reflection, copy it and paste it into your dream journal (opens in a new tab). Saving there is your choice and requires an account. You can also paste it into your own notebook or notes app.
There is room for the whole story
