The heart is the feeling center, where eros lives. To see or hold the heart in a dream, warm, beating, is the feeling function coming back into the body after a season of thinking your way through everything.
A heart that is wounded, cold, or missing points to grief that was never given its hour. What was not mourned does not leave, it waits in the chest.
