Dreaming of Coffin

Strange to say, the old readers called the coffin a good sign for the living: an end to a long trouble, a debt closed, a matter buried at last.

A coffin carried into your own house warns of loss near the household, or of a venture that should be ended before it ends itself.

The coffin is the container for what has finished, and the psyche is careful with its dead. To see one is often the sign that something, a role, an old self, a long grief, is finally being laid down with ceremony instead of dropped.

An open or empty coffin is an ending refused, something kept above ground past its time. To lie in the coffin yourself, still breathing, is a life gone still that isn't done living.
