Bazi, the Four Pillars
Bazi means eight characters. It reads a birth moment as four columns, each a Heavenly Stem over an Earthly Branch from the sexagenary calendar, for the year, the month, the day, and the two-hour mark of your arrival. There is nothing to shake and nothing to draw: the same birth always raises the same eight characters, the way it does in life. The day's stem is your Day Master, the self the whole chart turns around, and every other character is named for how it relates to it, resource, output, wealth, power, or peer. The five elements are then weighed across all eight, the heavy one named your flood and the spare one your famine, and the element that brings the scale back to center is named your Useful God. The luck pillars walk the cycle forward in ten-year seasons from your month pillar. The chart here reflects your nature; it does not predict your days, and the choosing stays in your hands.
