The hound, Laelaps, a ghost of muscle and relentless want, forever tasting the wind where the fox once was. He would always catch, yet she would always evade. The dark velvet of the night holds this ceaseless hunger, a stretch of bone and desperate flight. Two beings caught in the exquisite agony of desire, pulling at the thread of what it means to be endlessly almost there, a breath always just out of reach.
