Callisto was a nymph of Artemis, and Zeus came to her in Artemis's shape. Hera turned her into a bear. Her son Arcas almost killed her hunting. Zeus saved them both into the sky. The Big Dipper is her, visible all year, never setting in the north, never quite catchable.
