Karkinos
the giant crab
Cancer watches for the unthanked. The one who held the line in a fight that wasn't theirs, who did the small brave thing that changed nothing on the scoreboard and everything in the telling. The crab knows that most loyalty goes unwitnessed, and it keeps a claw raised for every person who helped anyway, out of love or stubbornness or an order they didn't question. If you've been feeling like your effort got stepped on, look for the dim stars near the lion. That's your monument. It's been there a long time.
You don't have to win the fight to have mattered in it.
