Upright
Candlelight throws long shapes on the dark wood, and not all of them are what cast them. The Moon is the dream-half of your life, the fears that aren't quite real and the knowing that is. This is the thing you feel in the room but can't yet name. Don't rush it, don't talk yourself out of it. The path runs on past the edge of the light, and you don't have to see its end to keep walking it.
Reversed
The smoke clears and the shadow that scared you was only a hung apron, or you finally say out loud what your gut has been muttering for months. Clarity, sometimes a hard one, and sometimes the opposite, the haze gone on so long you've stopped trusting yourself. Either way, ask the body. It knew first.
In the imagery
A low gold moon glows through the shop's small window, her face half-formed in the haze, while two candles gutter on a dark wood shelf below. Between hanging bundles of dried mugwort and a steaming cup, a thin path of spilled tea winds back across the table toward the dark. Drops of wax fall and pool like dew, and the velvet hush makes everything uncertain, lovely, half-seen.
