The Lovers

The Lovers is the moment of choosing, said clearly. Not just romance — though it is that, sometimes — but any choice that asks you to know yourself before you say yes. Which life do you want, and which version of you has to die to have it. There is no wrong answer that's also an honest answer.

Reversed

Choice avoided, or made out of fear. The Lovers reversed is the relationship you stay in because leaving feels harder than staying. Or the path you took because someone else picked it. Sometimes the card is also disharmony — between two people, or between two parts of yourself. The work is to hear them both, the fire-tree and the fruit-tree, and decide whose voice is yours.
