Upright
A woman seated between two pillars, one black and one white, a half-moon at her feet. She is not telling you anything. She is waiting for you to be quiet enough to hear what you already know. The High Priestess is the part of you the loud parts have been talking over. There's an answer in your body right now — in the way your shoulders sit, in what your chest does when someone says a particular name. The card asks you to trust it before you can explain it.
Reversed
The pillars are still there but you've stopped going between them. The High Priestess reversed is intuition silenced — by other people, by your own dismissals, by the noise of trying to be reasonable. Sometimes she's also secrets, the kind that grow stale in the keeping. Whatever you've been holding under, it wants air. The body knew first. It still knows.
In the imagery
A robed figure seated between two pillars marked B and J — Boaz and Jachin, the temple's columns. A crescent moon rests at her feet. The veil behind her is patterned with pomegranates, the fruit of the underworld. A cross on her chest, a scroll in her lap marked TORA — the law, partially hidden. Blue robe like water. The number two.
