Howlite

Howlite is modern, but the white stones — chalk, alabaster, milk-quartz — were used in the medieval cloisters under the pillows of novices who could not sleep. A stone the color of moon-on-linen. Slows the inner voice. Keep one on the nightstand; some people prefer it cool, in a glass of water.
